If you’re a parent scratching your head over how to keep your kids occupied during the next school holidays, consider taking them to Swiss-Garden Beach Resort Damai Laut in Lumut, Perak. Located off Pangkor Island, the resort recently opened two new attractions designed to keep even the most rambunctious little ones happily distracted.

Collectively called the Young Citizens of the World Club, it is an interactive indoor kids’ club which sits on what was formerly a recreation room. It began welcoming visitors last November and comprises multiple zones such as the Apps and Tabs Zone, which is the first to greet visitors at the entrance. As its name suggests, tablets are available for children to play games on.

Kids can also test their precision skill at the Nerf Gun Shooting Gallery and showcase their creative masterpieces at the Arts and Craft Wall of Fame. Or they can let loose at the Kid’s Crash Zone. a large ball pit in which they can slide and jump into for some hyperactive fun.

Then there is the combination of ping pong and squash at the Wall Bat Ball Court. They can unwind on a beanbag at the Kid’s Galaxy Cinema, which plays family-themed films continuously throughout the day. To add to the movie-watching experience, a popcorn machine is also present to dish out the delicious snack at a reasonable price.

For some good old-fashioned fun under the sun, the Wet Side Splash Pool does the job wonderfully. Previously occupied by the adult and children’s swimming pools, the entire space underwent a six-month renovation and was opened in December.

Comprising a series of water guns, slides and other features, the three children’s pools are guaranteed to keep the little ones entertained for hours while parents can laze on the poolside’s lounge chairs or take a leisurely dip in the infinity pool and Jacuzzi.

The Wet Side Pool, a children’s pool with shallower waters, features a tube slide and three open water slides that are safe enough for toddlers to go on. Similarly, the Water Feature Playground is also installed with several sets of slides, in addition to play structures for children.

Sandwiched between the two is a third kids’ pool – the bigger Slip, Slide and Splash Pool. Designed for children over the age of 12, it boasts two tall water slides at both ends that promise an exhilarating ride.

Positioned over the pool are three buckets that tip over when filled up completely, creating a big splash below; water guns scattered around the area ensure a truly wet and fun water park experience.

Then there is the resort’s main attraction – the beach – where there are plenty of activities for children to indulge in. They can play at the playground, which recently installed two new play structures, or visit the mini animal farm where they can pet fluffy rabbits and enjoy a favourite Malaysian pastime – longkang (drain) fishing.
