It’s a given that medical and personal accident plans come in handy in the event the unexpected happens and makes us vulnerable and finally exposed.
What’s less obvious is that policyholders have the option to buy them from life or general insurance companies, especially when the agents usually do not cross-sell the two products.
So, what are the pros and cons of buying coverage from a life or general insurer? 

According to Debra Tang, manager of direct sales with a leading general insurer, when buying from a life insurer, you would typically be required to sign up for a life policy. Your medical and personal accident (PA) policies would be attached to the life policy as riders.
