AFTER a recent series of back-to-back company annual general meetings, Boustead Holdings Bhd (BHB) deputy chairman and group managing director Tan Sri Lodin Wok Kamaruddin heaved a sigh of relief.

Boustead Heavy Industries Corp Bhd (BHIC) shareholders can also look to better times as the company managed to divest its three loss-making tankers that were weighing it down. BHIC is controlled by its listed parent BHB, which is controlled by Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera.

Lodin, 67, has been at the helm of the Boustead group for more than two decades and the last two years have been the toughest. It is no surprise that he feels a huge weight has been lifted off of his shoulders.

“I feel so relieved! Lega rasanya! Really, after selling off the tankers, we can now focus on our core competencies, and hopefully, turn in consistent profits and allocate resources more efficiently," he tells FocusM.
