Mohd Bostami Ahmad.

His is a classic tale of a Felda boy made good. Mohd Bostami Ahmad was a daydreamer in school who parlayed his creative design talents to end up building a business out of designing spacecraft, among other modes of transport.

The 36-year-old kampung boy from Felda Ulu Jempol in Bandar Pusat Jengka, Pahang, began his space mission in a more down-to-earth career – he was a car designer before turning his focus to the stars.

He has since switched careers – he teaches Interface Design at the Multimedia University (MMU) in Cyberjaya. His vast experience in design has earned him the title “specialist”.

But one cannot help but notice that Bostami’s interest in astronomy has not waned. In fact, he has moved on to another, equally ambitious, project – to land a rover on the Moon.
