The next few years are shaping up to be pivotal ones for the low-key City Motors Group of companies. The former Alfa Romeo car distributor turned property developer will be kept busy completing a four-star hotel in Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle and another four-star hotel-cum-serviced apartments in Bangsar.

In addition, the group also has serviced apartments poised atop a five-storey retail block in Taman Nirwana, Ampang that is set to be launched in July.

In an exclusive interview with FocusM, City Motors Group executive chairman Datuk Foo Wan Kien tells why he chose to build a 46-storey hotel just opposite Pavilion in the famed Bukit Bintang area.

To Foo, it’s really quite simple. “What else can you build? Can you compete with KLCC for office space? Shopping malls are also already saturated within that area,” he says.
