THOSE who indulge and allow corruption to thrive are nothing more than followers of a satanic cult, said National Patriots Association (Patriot).
Speaking to FocusM, its president Brig-Jen (Rtd) Datuk Mohamed Arshad Raji said the Government’s lackadaisical approach in dealing with corruption has to change before it is too late.
“We need more stringent laws to deal with corruption. We are so lax about it. I just cannot stomach this any longer.
“Some of have said that we should emulate China in dealing with corruption and I totally agree. Corruption is the worst crime in the world,” he said.
Last week, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) nabbed more than 50 officers from the Immigration Department and the National Registration Department on allegations of being involved in a human trafficking syndicate and selling MyKad.
Apart from the arrests, MACC also confiscated a Rolls-Royce limousine, a Ford Mustang, a Range Rover and an Audi.
As of two days ago, the anti-graft body have also confiscated RM800,000 in cash, 26 luxury vehicles, four high-performance motorcycles, and assorted property including houses, land, jewellery and others, under Ops Selat.
The multi-agency operation executed raids in Putrajaya, Johor Baru, Kota Kinabalu, and Kuching over the alleged collusion between Immigration personnel and crime syndicates.
In China, those convicted of corruption charges are given the death penalty, where they are executed using a firing squad.
Gov’t setting bad example
An irate Arshad alleged that there exists a collusion between powers-that-be and those caught for graft, which is allowing corruption to become a serious problem in the nation.
Being a former high-ranking military officer, Arshad said there was no way the superiors of the officials caught was unaware of what was happening under their noses.
“Just look at former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. He was convicted of corruption but he is still running loose in the country. He was even appointed as the Barisan Nasional backbencher chief.
“What sort of an example are we setting to the public and our younger generation? Najib should be filing his appeal from jail.
“It looks like now anyone can steal anything and get away with it. Our country is going down the drain,” he said.
Being Muslims, Arshad added, all those who practise the faith should know that those who indulge in corruption would have to face Hellfire.
“Our laws and mindset must change. Our legal brains must do some thinking to come up with more effective measures to stem corruption once and for all,” he opined. –Nov 22. 2020.
