Staying relevant in the digital imaging industry

The digital imaging industry is seen to remain relevant in the market as demand continues to increase although the rise of the smartphone camera could cut into its growth. On a positive note, Canon Marketing (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, the maker of imaging and optical products, believes the market is experiencing growth due to various factors such as product quality and an increased adoption rate for imaging systems.

President and CEO Andrew Koh contends that a dedicated camera is still better in terms of quality and picture resolution as the sensor size built into a mobile phone will always be limited.

“A dedicated camera has greater quality and reliability. The usage of digital imaging systems has also increased due to a greater number of videos, images or pictures being taken every day.
