MPs who opposed asset declaration motion must quit
FocusM | 05 Jul 2019 00:30
IT’S inconceivable why some Members of Parliament (MPs) would want to vote against declaring their assets.
At the recent Parliament session on July 1 where a voice vote was taken on a special motion for all MPs and their families to declare their assets, there was intense objection from the opposition. The motion was passed, thanks to the support of mainly government MPs.
We can’t understand why any MP in his or her right mind would not agree to declaring their assets unless they have something to hide. They should just quit. It is also something for voters to consider should these MPs contest in the next general election.
