No lessons learnt from past water disruptions

LOOKS like folk in the Klang Valley will never see an end to water disruptions.

The excuses given by the authorities are many – the cuts are either due to scheduled maintenance, upgrading of treatment plants, pollution in rivers or burst pipes. By now, many consumers are resigned to the fact that surprise cuts will continue to happen.

For example, there was a scheduled water cut from July 23 to 26 due to upgrading works at a water treatment plant. But four days earlier on July 19, consumers had a rude shock when water supply was cut off due to pollution. Given this, the scheduled water cut from July 23 had to be called off.
