Tan Sri Tan Khoon Hai, the 64-year-old founder and executive chairman of SWS Capital Bhd (SWS Cap) certainly thrives on facing challenges head on. When he sees a problem, he wastes no time in finding the right solution.

SWS Cap is mainly a plasticware and furniture manufacturer. Unfortunately, a spate of poor results and three quarters of losses are putting some pressure on the company.

Though the company has returned to profitability, for its third quarter ended May 31, 2019, its net profit plunged to RM177,000 from RM1.58 mil a year ago despite a higher revenue of RM40.2 mil from RM35.2 mil.
