City Motors Group, known for its love for the Italian sportscar brand Alfa Romeo in the 1960s, has over the years expanded its business interests to oil palm plantations, orchards and property development as the car brand declined in popularity.

In the 1970s, the group rose to prominence with its distribution of Alfa Romeo cars, later setting a world record on the total number of the brand’s cars sold from a single contract.

The group was once the sole distributor of Alfa Romeo cars in Malaysia, within a decade carving out a significant market share in Malaysia.
