Grab unveils Southeast Asia’s first delivery-only supermarket

SOUTHEAST Asia’s leading super app, Grab announced the launch of GrabSupermarket, its first delivery-only supermarket in the region as part of its continued push into grocery delivery.

Strategically located in Section 13 Petaling Jaya, the GrabSupermarket which began piloting three weeks ago serves a growing demand of online grocery shoppers in the Klang Valley who are looking for a convenient and accessible way to restock their weekly groceries on GrabMart.

GrabSupermarket is an extension of GrabMart, Grab’s fast-growing instant retail and grocery delivery service available across eight Southeast Asian countries and over 70 cities.

GrabSupermarket currently delivers over 2,500 products, including a wide and rapidly growing selection of household goods, pantry essentials, beauty and health essentials and freshly-sourced produce direct from its warehouse and farms.

At zero delivery fees, GrabSupermarket brings affordable and high-quality fresh produce to customers’ doors at maximum value and freshness within 24 hours.

“The next-day delivery model enables us to ensure the produce is delivered from our variety of partnering farms and suppliers directly to us, and from us to the customers, all within 24 hours,” Grab Malaysia managing director Sean Goh pointed out.

“We saw an incredible take up of GrabSupermarket among consumers during the pilot phase, with fresh produce such as fresh vegetables, fruits and poultry making up almost 50% of our orders.”

With GrabRewards, Grab’s Platinum customers save up to a further 5% off all their grocery runs with GrabSupermarket, GrabPay Credits and the Maybank Grab Mastercard Platinum Credit Card.

“Our ambition is to be able to offer the widest selection of groceries at the best prices, maximum freshness and zero delivery fees to every Malaysian household,” envisaged Goh.

“In addition, we hope that GrabSupermarket will create even more income opportunities for all our drivers.”

Moving forward, Grab plans to grow GrabSupermarket and expand to more capital cities across the country.

“We will also continue investing in building an even better in-app supermarket browsing experience to deliver the best customer grocery-shopping experience.,” shared Goh.
