FT PAS Youth to DAP: Don’t capitalise on alcohol ban for your political mileage

THE Federal Territories’ PAS Youth is claiming that the Kuala Lumpur City Hall’s (DBKL) Excise Licensing Board has succumbed to pressure by DAP on matters related to sale of liquor without control particularly at convenient stores and Chinese medical halls.

It further accused board member Kasthuri Patto who was formerly DAP’s Batu Kawan MP as being the only individual who “retaliated by attacking” the wing’s recent media statement regarding lifting of the blanket ban on alcohol sale.

“The attack carried out by the (DAP) member of the Excise Licensing Board recklessly described PAS Youth as ignorant just because it solely focuses on the issue of alcohol but forget things like eradicating poverty and so on,” chided the FT PAS Youth information chief Abdul Razak Ramli.

“The most awkward thing is when this DAP leader (Kasthuri) made a counter-attack on PAS Youth, DBKL on Dec 5 issued a media statement that the ban on alcohol sale was never revoked.

“This then begs the question if DAP is holding DBKL by its neck to do an override on the ban issue. Or in fact, DBKL just wants to silent the public on the issue by continuing to grant approval as reported in the media?”

In closing, Abdul Razak reminded DAP and those who are together in the effort to lift the alcohol sale ban to refrain from doing so. “The FT PAS Youth can do more than media statements as we will not hesitate to mobilise Muslims on this issue,” he warned. – Dec 8, 2023
