What I discovered throughout my weekend stay was that The Villas embodies a timeless Asian ambience, belied by nothing short of modern conveniences and the comforts of a five-star resort. My favourite feature is the lush greenery that surrounds the resort.
An oasis of relaxation and pure indulgence, the journey begins at The Pavillion Lounge which houses the reception area for check-in and check-out. They are greeted with a refreshing ice-cold towel and an exotic cocktail before setting off on foot or on a motorised resort vehicle to their villa. For added privacy, guests may opt to check-in at their individual villas, assuring them of complete anonymity.
Upon entering the villa, a private outdoor terrace that comprises an alluring infinity edge plunge pool invites guests for a rejuvenating dip. Otherwise, it lulls them to a brief nap on the deck chair while soaking in the sights and sounds of nature.
Dominating the bedroom area, guests are invited to snuggle up in the luxurious oversized four-poster bed or simply laze the day away with a favourite book, movie or some music. The bathroom too offers a full range of relaxing opportunities. With natural sunlight flowing freely in, guests may take a shower under the “rain fall” for a therapeutic water massage or contact their personal butler to prepare a bubble bath in the deep sunken bath tub.
Numerous dining options are also available. The Pavillion Lounge serves breakfast and evening cocktails with tea-time snacks, exclusively for guests of The Villas. For those who wish for a private and intimate dining experience, arrangements can be made in the villa with a floating breakfast menu, a barbecue option available for dinner through a customised menu selection. The Resort Café at Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa also offers a complete range of buffet and a la carte menu, serving local and international favourites.
A leisure stroll through the manicured lawn and stoned pathway between the heavy green foliage brings guest to Mandara Spa, blending unobtrusively to the natural surroundings of The Villas. The Balinese spa features over 30 treatments including aromatherapy massages, wraps, facials, scrubs, and baths using the purest and highest quality essential oils and ingredients. My friend and I tried out a massage treatment and it was heavenly.
