KUALA LUMPUR: The shares of Axiata Group Bhd rose 31 sen to RM4.67 as at 11.07am today (Jan 17) following news of a possible move by Telenor ASA to acquire stakes in the company.
A total of 8.07 million shares changed hands, making it the most actively traded stock among the index-linked counters this morning.
Telenor ASA, a Norwegian multinational telecommunications company, was reported to be in talks with sovereign fund Khazanah Nasional Bhd, seeking to revive plans to buy a stake in Axiata, a plan that was scrapped four months ago. – Jan 17, 2020, Bernama
