COVID-19: Infections surge in Kelantan, recoveries outpace new cases

THE Health Ministry (MOH) recorded 1,300 new infections as of 12pm today, with the total number of those infected now at 353,329.

As for recovery, the MOH said that a total of 1,412 people have recovered to date, bringing the tally to 337,868.

“However, five people died today, bringing the death toll to 1,2300,” said MOH director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, in a tweet.

All who died were locals.

On that note, Noor Hisham said that there are 14,161 active cases, with 189 patients being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) and 88 requiring respiratory assistance.

“Sarawak tops the highest number of infections (385), followed by Selangor (242) and Kelantan (126),” he remarked. – April 6, 2021.
