COVID-19: More workplace clusters detected, cases in Kelantan rising

THE Health Ministry announced 2,461 new COVID-19 infections and eight deaths in the past 24 hours.

In a statement, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that there were 4,782 recoveries, bringing the total number of those recovered to 244,753.

“We have a total number of 280,272 infection cases as of now. Unfortunately, eight people have lost their lives to the coronavirus, bringing the total death toll to 1,051,” he added.

All those who died were locals.

Selangor still recorded the highest number of infections with 1,001, followed by Kelantan (257) and Johor (233).

On related matter, Noor Hisham announced that his ministry has detected 10 new clusters in the country.

All of the clusters are workplace related.

“With that, we have 510 active clusters. Eleven clusters have ended today; which are Jalan Terolak, Persiaran Tasek, Jalan Mawila, Rawa Akasia, Pasar Baru, Sawmill Luit, Pantai Peringgit, Kampung Badak, Jalan Ijuk, Belati and Setapak Indah,” he remarked. – Feb 20, 2021.
