COVID-19: Three new areas placed under EMCO

MALAYSIA COVID-19 numbers drop slightly today, with 1,196 new infections and one death.

In a statement, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also said with the new cases, the total number of infections in the country is now at 105, 096 and 452 deaths.

There were also 997 recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 84,411. Currently there are 20,233 patients warded.

Senior Minister for Security Ismail Sabri Yaakob today announced that three new areas will be placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from Dec 28 to Jan 10.

Two will be in Johor and one in Negeri Sembilan.

In a statement today, Ismail said the Johor Bahru Correctional Centre in Pontian and the staff quarters will be placed under an EMCO.

In addition, all the detainees from the Kota Tinggi district police headquarters will be placed at the Segitiga Hall in Taman Desa Sejahtera, Kota Tinggi, which will be under lockdown. – Dec 27, 2020
