Datasonic bags RM7 mil contract for Malaysia-Singapore e-gates

DATASONIC Group Bhd, through wholly-owned subsidiary Datasonic Technologies Sdn Bhd (DTSB), has received a letter of award from the Ministry of Home Affairs for an e-gate contract worth RM6.97 mil.

In a filing with Bursa, the company said the contract was awarded via open tender, and is for 16 foreigner e-gates with facial recognition at the Malaysia-Singapore entry/exit point, for a period of 12 months starting Feb 15, 2020 until Feb 14, 2021.

This contract covers the supply, delivery, installation, testing, integration, commissioning and technical support of equipment, software, and application of the 16 e-gates, to be received by the Immigration Department of Malaysia.

DTSB will be required to furnish a performance bond for the amount of RM348,656.30 to the Home Affairs Ministry, with a validity period of two years from Feb 15, 2020 to Feb 14, 2022.

At the end of the trading day, Datasonic closed two sen lower at RM1.44 with 21.55 million shares changing hands. – Feb 3, 2020
