MRT open for public inspection on scheme modifications

PUBLIC inspection for modifications to the MRT Putrajaya Line’s (formerly known as MRT Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya line) scheme will commence for three months from Sept 17 to Dec 17, 2020.

Members of the public can inspect site context plans and other documents which show the modifications to the original railway scheme of the line at the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) office in Kuala Lumpur.

The documents will be displayed for inspection from 9am to 4pm from Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.

The modifications to the railway scheme are the result of a cost rationalisation exercise by the government for mega infrastructure projects in 2018.

Under the exercise, the MRT Putrajaya Line construction cost was reduced to RM30.53 bil from the previous budget of RM39.35 bil.

Among the modifications to be carried out are the deferred opening of Bandar Malaysia Utara and Bandar Malaysia Selatan underground stations, deferment or revision of station entrances and pedestrian bridges, deferment of multi-storey park and ride facilities which will be replaced with at-grade park and ride facilities, and others. – Sept 18, 2020
