MYEG to expand tax monitoring system in Indonesia

KUALA LUMPUR: MY E.G. Services Bhd’s (MYEG) associate company in Indonesia, PT Cartenz Inti Utama, has secured additional government mandates to roll out its tax monitoring system in 30 more cities after the launch of a pilot programme in Jakarta.

MYEG managing director T.S. Wong said the expansion to more regions would strengthen the company’s position as the leading e-government services provider in Indonesia and widen its footprint in the retail sector.

In a statement today, the group said it was recently contracted by the governments of seven other Indonesian provinces to deploy the system on a chargeable basis to cover 30 cities.

The group began the implementation of real-time monitoring of business transactions for tax computation purposes since unveiling the joint venture in 2018.

Installations in retail merchant premises are currently ongoing in Jakarta under a pilot programme offered at no charge.

MYEG’s indirect wholly-owned subsidiary MY EG (Indonesia) Sdn Bhd bought new shares representing 40% equity interest in PT Cartenz Inti Utama for US$10 mil (RM 40.62 mil) last year. – Jan 13, 2020 Bernama
