Rohas lands RM58.4 mil Vietnam deal

ROHAS Tecnic Bhd has secured a letter of award from Vietnam-based Phu My Vinh Construction and Investment Corporation for a RM58.4 mil contract for the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of Phase 2 of the Hoa Khanh Tay Water Supply System.

The announcement on Bursa Malaysia, dated Jan 21, stated that the contract was secured by RBC Water Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Rohas-Euco Industries Bhd, which in turn is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Rohas, with the letter of award dated Jan 20.

The contract’s duration is estimated to be 24 months, and consists of the design and installation of transmission of the main and secondary pipelines to Duc Hoa and north of Ben Luc districts, as well as the expansion of the Hoa Khanh Tay water treatment plant, which will increase the capacity of the plant from 40 million litres per day to 80 million litres per day.

This is expected to have a positive impact on the group’s earnings for the current financial year ending Dec 31, 2020, as well as moving forward.

Rohas’ shares closed at 60 sen, down a sen, with 977,100 shares changing hands on Jan 21.
