ROHAS Tecnic Bhd (RTB) announced the appointment of its new chairman George Sia Bun Chun with effect from Jan 13, following the resignation of Tan Sri Wan Azmi Wan Hamzah on Jan 1, 2020.
In a Bursa Malaysia filing on Jan 14, the company said Wan Azmi retired to pursue his personal interests and the appointment of Sia was part of the succession plan.
“I leave RTB in safe hands as George is really the man who built the business and made us the largest tower manufacturer in the country,” said Wan Azmi.
Besides Sia, Wan Afzal Aris Wan Azmi was also concurrently appointed as a non-independent non-executive director of the company, maintaining Azmi’s family representation on the board.
Shares of Rohas Tecnic traded at 62 sen after the midday break on Jan 14, giving it a market capitalisation of RM293 mil. – Jan 14, 2020
