Short-term rates are expected to remain stable on BNM’s operations

KUALA LUMPUR: Short-term rates are expected to remain stable today (Feb 13) on Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) operations to absorb surplus liquidity from the financial system.

Today’s liquidity is estimated at RM24.94 bil in the conventional system and RM11.76 bil in Islamic funds.

The central bank will conduct two conventional market tenders of RM500 mil each for seven and 14 days respectively, as well as three Qard tenders worth RM1.4 billion for seven days, RM1.2 bil for 14 days and RM1.5 bil for 21 days.

At 4pm, the BNM will conduct up to RM23.9 bil for conventional overnight tender and RM7.7 bil for Murabahah overnight tender.  – Feb 13, 2020, Bernama
