Short-term rates are expected to remain stable on BNM’s operations

KUALA LUMPUR: Short-term rates are expected to remain stable today (Feb 12) on Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) operations to absorb surplus liquidity from the financial system.

Today’s liquidity is estimated at RM26.69 bil in the conventional system and RM9.58 bil in Islamic funds.

The central bank will conduct two conventional market tenders of RM1 bil on each for seven and 14 days respectively, as well as two Qard tenders worth RM1.1 bil for seven days and RM400 mil for 14 days.

At 4pm, BNM will conduct up to RM24.7 bil for conventional overnight tender and RM8.1 bil for Murabahah overnight tender. – Feb 12, 2020, Bernama.
