Short-term rates to remain stable on BNM’s operations

KUALA LUMPUR: Short-term rates are expected to remain stable today on Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) operations to absorb surplus liquidity from the financial system.

Today’s liquidity is estimated at RM26.56 bil in the conventional system and RM17.71 bil in Islamic funds.

The central bank will conduct two conventional market tenders of RM2 billion for seven days and RM1 billion for 14 days.

It will also conduct a Commodity Murabahah Programme worth RM500 mil for 29 days and a Qard tender valued at RM5 bil for seven to 29 days.

At 4 pm, the BNM will conduct up to RM24 bil for conventional overnight tender and RM11.2 bil for Murabahah overnight tender. – Feb 04, 2020, Bernama
