Short-term rates to remain stable on BNM’s operations

SHORT-term rates are expected to remain stable today on Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) operations to absorb surplus liquidity from the financial system.

Today’s liquidity is estimated at RM46.79 bil in the conventional system and RM27.88  bil in Islamic funds.

The central bank will conduct an RM8 bilconventional money market tender for seven days and an RM4.5 bil Qard tender for seven days.

It will also be conducting two reverse repo tenders of RM1 bil each for 31 days, and 92 days, respectively.

At 4pm, BNM will conduct up to RM40.8 bil for a conventional overnight tender and RM25.4 bil for a Murabahah overnight tender. – March 24, 2020, Bernama
