Short-term rates to remain stable on BNM’s operations

SHORT-term rates are expected to remain stable today on Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) operations to absorb surplus liquidity from the financial system.

Today’s liquidity is estimated at RM64.91 bil in the conventional system and RM33.45 bil in Islamic funds.

The central bank will conduct two conventional money market tenders worth RM4 bil each for seven days and 14 days.

It will also conduct two Qard tenders valued at RM4.4 billion for seven days and RM1.2 bil for 14 days as well as a reverse repo tender of RM1 bil for 33 days.

At 4pm, BNM will conduct up to RM57.9 bil for conventional overnight tender and RM27.8 bil for Murabahah overnight tender. – April 1, 2020, Bernama
