Sime Darby Group CEO Jeffri has Covid-19, under treatment

KUALA LUMPUR: Sime Darby Bhd’s group CEO Datuk Jeffri Salim Davidson has tested positive for Covid-19 and is under quarantine and receiving medical treatment.

In a statement today, the group said Jeffri has not visited any Sime Darby premises in the last 16 days.

“Employees who have been in contact with him over this period have been placed on self-quarantine and are undergoing the requisite medical examination,” it said.

The group is working with the relevant authorities to ensure the health and safety of its employees, including undertaking contact tracing to determine those who have been in contact with the GCEO.

It also said that group chief financial officer Mustamir Mohamad has assumed the responsibilities of the Group CEO during his absence in ensuring business continuity.

Meanwhile, Sime Darby’s premises nationwide were closed from yesterday until March 31 in line with the government’s Movement Control Order.

The company has initiated its business continuity plan and all of its Malaysia-based employees will work remotely.

Sime Darby has also instituted its business continuity plans across the rest of the group’s operations in the Asia Pacific to ensure minimal disruptions to operations. – March 19, 2020, Bernama
