Storehub opens new regional HQ, partners Facebook Malaysia

PETALING JAYA: Technology innovator StoreHub Sdn Bhd has opened its 27,000 sq ft new regional headquarters here, called StoreHub Stadium, to power its continued development of purpose-driven commercial solutions that have already helped more than 14,000 businesses across Southeast Asia.

CEO and co-founder Fong Wai Hong said StoreHub Stadium, deemed “a flexible and functional space,” is part of the company’s commitment to invest in Malaysia and accelerate the country’s digital transformation.

“The space is expected to eventually house up to 500 members of the company’s local and international teams,” he told reporters after the launch of StoreHub Stadium at KYM Tower, Mutiara Damansara, here today.

At the event, Fong unveiled StoreHub’s partnership with Facebook Malaysia that allows businesses to easily offer seamless, accessible rewards and loyalty solutions that are integrated with Facebook Rewards.

“We have been working with Facebook to find new ways to help businesses make better use of their relationship with their customers through an integrated loyalty programme here in Malaysia, as well as across the region.

“This will result in greater revenue opportunities for these businesses, as well as a better retail experience for consumers,” he said.

Fong added that the solution enables anyone with the Facebook App on their smartphone to easily sign up to a store’s loyalty programme by scanning a QR code that is integrated with StoreHub’s Beep Cashback system and Facebook Rewards.

Founded in 2013 as an all-in-one tablet-based point of sale (PoS) system, StoreHub offers SMEs a cloud-based iPad PoS system, intelligent inventory management, customer relationship management, quick response table ordering systems, an e-commerce platform, and business analytics.

Its regional team comprises 330 people located in offices in Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Manila and Shanghai.

Earlier in his speech, Fong said RM37 mil was raised from StoreHub’s second round of funding and would be used to strengthen and expand the company’s presence locally and abroad.

“The investment places StoreHub on the path of aggressive growth as we continue to expand our growth, customers and employees.

“The injection of funds would also be used to strengthen our presence in the core markets of Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand,” he said, adding that the company is in talks with a few potential partners and will announce the outcome soon. – March 6, 2020, Bernama
