Tommy Thomas resigns as attorney-general: Report

TAN Sri Tommy Thomas has resigned as attorney-general, three months before his term is supposed to end in June, according to a report.

The resignation was submitted, according to The Edge Markets, to interim prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

The portal also cites a source in noting that Thomas wanted to resign while Mahathir was still the prime minister, interim as he is, as he was the person who appointed Thomas.

It is unclear what will happen to the ongoing 1Malaysia Development Bhd cases, which were pursued by Thomas, considering his resignation and the impending departure of Mahathir. – Feb 28, 2020
