Unisem halts Chengdu plant operations for eight days

UNISEM (M) Bhd has halted operations at its plant in Chengdu from Feb 2 to 9, as part of measures taken to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

The plant, operated by the group’s subsidiary Unisem Chengdu Co Ltd, halted its operations under directives from the local authorities, the company said in its Bursa filing. 

The plant, with a total book value of RM135.94 mil, is primarily involved in the packaging and testing of semiconductor devices. It also has operations in Ipoh and Batam, Indonesia.

At the end of the trading day, Unisem’s shares were last done at RM2.18, down four sen, with 31,300 shares changing hands. – Feb 4, 2020
