Complying to the standard operating prodecures is vital now more than ever

PLEASE do not let your guard down in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. A lot of people seem to have forgotten that the nation is still at war against the virus.

I have seen some individuals who, are reverting to pre-COVID-19 times. They are not practising physical distancing, not wearing face masks and even doing away with the need for contact tracing.

Some have even gone to the extent of lying to medical workers with regards to their exposure to the virus. Please do not be selfish. Everyone has family members to protect. Don’t bring harm to others.

Let me strongly remind you that we are still recording high number of COVID-19 figures on a daily basis and the recent year end interstate travelling has sparked new clusters. This should not have happened and it could have been avoided.

However, we cannot control what has happened. Do away with the blame game and focus on the task ahead.

The Health Director General has repeatedly called for people to stay at home if they have no pressing matters. Please heed the call by Tan Sri Noor Hisham Abdullah.

Lets do our part for our frontliners, who are battling tooth and nail, to keep us safe. Do not let their efforts be in vain.  Help ease their burden. I believe our adherence to the existing standard operating procedure (SOP) is the only gratitude they need to soldier on in their journey.

The whole situation can go belly up at any time. That is how fragile it is. Please, spare a thought for lives and livelihoods. – Jan 8, 2021
