Najib: Wan Saiful a “champion” in taking credit for other’s effort

PARTI Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) information chief Wan Saiful Wan Jan is a “champion” in taking credit for other people’s work.

“Not only does Wan Saiful wants to take credit for the lockdown but he also makes it sound like the Government had always wanted to impose it.

“Yeah right. It only happened after our intensive care unit (ICU) exceeded 100% capacity, with new infections and death toll spiking almost on a daily basis,” former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak lashed out, on his Facebook page.

As soon as the Health Ministry announced that new COVID-19 infections dipped to about 5,000 cases yesterday, Free Malaysia Today reported Wan Saiful as saying that the Government made the right decision to impose a total lockdown.

He also criticised those who accused the Government of not having a proper plan to contain the pandemic, adding the administration’s moves are bearing fruit.

“Though there are people who would not stop complaining for their selfish reasons, data shows that we’re on the right track,” Wan Saiful was reported saying.

However, netizens flooded Wan Saiful’s Facebook and mocked the Bersatu leader for taking credit on the matter, reminding him that it was public pressure that forced the hesitant- Government to impose a total lockdown.

Pouring scorn on Wan Saiful, Najib posted links of several news coverage of the Government being adamant against imposing a total lockdown initially, citing economic concerns.

“Now the infection cases went down a little, our Bersatu information chief immediately jumps in to praise the Government,” the Pekan MP stated. – June 8, 2021.
