New Sabah chief minister to be named later today: Hajiji

SABAH Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Hajiji Noor has said the new Sabah chief minister would be named later today, Bernama reported.

According to the report, Hajii said the announcement would be made in the morning before the candidate is sworn in at the Istana Negeri.

Asked on the party that the chief minister candidate would represent, he said: “Let it be a mystery (for now).”

Yesterday’s state election saw Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) winning nine of the 13 new seats in the Sabah State Legislative Assembly.

Of which, five seats were won by Barisan Nasional (BN), Perikatan Nasional (PN) three and Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) one.

The other four seats were won by Warisan Plus in Darau, Limbahau, Segama and Kukusan. – Sept 27, 2020
