COVID-19: Record high new infections and recoveries, over 4k

THE Health Ministry has reported 4,275 new COVID-19 cases and seven deaths in the past 24 hours.

In a tweet today, Health Ministry’s director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also said that there were 4,313 recoveries, bringing the total number of those recovered to 137,019.

“The total number of infections now stands at 180,455. Unfortunately, seven people have lost their lives, bringing the total number of fatalities to 667,” he said.

Selangor continues to record the highest number of new infections at 1,421, followed by Kuala Lumpur (548) and Sabah (498).

On that note, Noor Hisham announced that 11 new clusters have been discovered across Malaysia. The clusters are:

  • Kampung Bombalai (Sabah)
  • Kampung Bukit Biah (Terengganu)
  • Tembok Sungai Udang (Malacca)
  • Bali Residence construction site (Malacca)
  • Persiaran Tanjung (Johor)
  • Jalan Canggih (Johor)
  • Lebuh Puteri construction site (Selangor)
  • Kampung Guntong Luar (Terengganu)
  • Setapak factory (Kuala Lumpur)
  • Jalan Wangsa construction site (Kuala Lumpur)
  • Jalan Timah Dua (Johor)
