Grandparents of murdered Zayn Rayyan arrested 

IN a significant development in the case of the autistic six-year-old Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin who was tragically murdered last year, the Selangor police have made a recent arrest on the grandparents of the victim to aid in the ongoing investigation into the boy’s untimely demise.

According to Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, the couple was taken into custody at 2.30pm to provide assistance in uncovering the circumstances surrounding Zayn’s murder. This arrest follows closely on the heels of the remand of Zayn’s parents, whose period of detention is slated to conclude tomorrow.

The impending decision regarding whether the grandparents will face charges or be released is anticipated to be made tomorrow (June 13), shedding further light on the direction of the investigation.

Moreover, the developments in this case have gripped the community, seeking justice for the young victim whose life was tragically cut short.

Zayn Rayyan was reported missing from Damansara Damai on Dec 5 last year, sending shockwaves through the local area. Tragically, his lifeless body was discovered the following day, a mere 200 meters from his apartment block.

The findings of the post-mortem examination painted a grim picture, revealing multiple injuries including defensive wounds. Strangulation was determined to be the cause of death. – June 12, 2024
