Pro-PH cybertroopers name-shame profiteers of diesel price hike, report them to enforcers

MADANI government backers are demanding that the Domestic Trade and Living Costs Ministry (KPDN) mete out drastic/hefty penalties on businesses that seize opportunity from the recent diesel subsidy rationalisation to profiteer by passing down the additional cost to their customers.

Social media influencer JOKER🔺(@BadBoy266) even went to the extent of trolling and name-shaming such businesses while urging netizens to post price hike notifications of unscrupulous businesses to facilitate further action by the relevant authorities.

“LCS Marketing, Chuan Soon Heng, Hong Guan Towing, MALIARAY Holidays … Post here if you come across price hike notices as displayed here,” he penned on the X (previously Twitter) platform.

“Let’s make them famous. Download EzAdu (complaint hotline of KPDN) guys. Easy and simple. Let KPDN investigate.”

At a glance, the three industries featured by JOKER🔺are concrete mix distributors, tow truck operators and tour bus (as opposed to express bus) companies.

Elaborating further, the social media influencer also furnished handy information of the so-called KPDN’s Ops Kesan 2.0 to facilitate lodging of reports on the profiteers in addition to the heavy fines of up to RM500,000 for companies and RM100,000 (on top of a three-year jail term) for individuals found to have taken advantage of the lifting of diesel subsidy to raise prices of their goods and services.

Elsewhere, JOKER🔺also took the initiative to individually name-shame the ‘culprits’ publicly while reporting the matter directly to KPDN Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali.

This prompted a netizen to wonder how KPDN is able to act against big businesses in the likes of multinationals who have also joined the fray to raise prices of their products and services. – June 12, 2024
