120k diesel vehicle owners will receive RM200 monthly BUDI Madani cash aid effective Wed (July 17)

ALMOST 120,000 diesel vehicle owners who qualified for the BUDI Individu assistance before or as of June 30 can expect to receive their RM200 cash aid from this Wednesday (July 17).

The exercise will cost the Madani government an allocation in excess of RM25 mil a month, according to Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying.

“After answering an oral question in the Dewan Rakyat just now, fellow MPs also asked about when the payment date will be made and the status of the new BUDI MADANI application in July 2024,” penned the Tanjong MP on her Facebook page.

“The government has channelled almost RM50 mil in aid allocations under the BUDI Individual programme for the first two months of the targeted diesel subsidy targeting.”

According to Lim, the existing recipients have been cross-checked with the latest data by government agencies to ensure that their Motor Vehicle Licenses and road tax that remain valid as part of the BUDI Individu eligibility requirements.

“For those who’ve just applied and were approved in July 2024, a payment of RM200 will be made from Aug 7,” she revealed.

“The government is always committed to ensure that those who are eligible for the BUDI Individual cash aid receive such benefit as soon as possible so that its implementation is effective to cover the impact of the cost of living at all levels of society.”

For the record, the Bantuan Subsidi Madani (BUDI Madani) programme which was rolled out on May 28 is split into two categories, namely BUDI Individu and BUDI Agri-Komoditi. To qualify for BUDI Individu, applicants must possess the following qualities:

  • Must be a Malaysian citizen;
  • Owns a non-luxury diesel vehicle which is under 10-years-old with an active road tax;
  • Have an annual income of RM100,000 or below; and
  • Have a background check with the Inland Revenue Board (IRB).

On the other hand, one must fit the following criteria to qualify for BUDI Agri-Komoditi:

  • Must be registered farmers or smallholders with relevant agencies.
  • Annual turnover between RM50,000 and RM300,000. – July 15, 2024
