WHEN Honda Day is mentioned, even people not in the know will assume a congregation of cars of a respectable quality considering the brand involved.
That was what fans of Honda had in mind until the jackpot, which was the cream of the crop for the event, was unveiled.
According to a video post on X by amighul deghaman, it could be seen that the prize was a dilapidated, used Honda car which had not even been touched up.

Mstar reported that it was a black Honda Accord from 1992 sold at RM3,500. To top it off, the vehicle was bought from Facebook as identified through its registration number.
Looking at the condition of the car, one will find it hard to decide whether to cry, laugh or to cry and laugh at the same time. Quite a number of netizens, however, are not amused.
Netizen memer compared it to an event for children at the kindergarten.
Saqib Khattak added that even if the winner were to bring home this junk of a Honda, he would have difficulty finding a parking spot for fear of being ashamed of his neighbour.
Kemek said the event was a shame since people are coming from Thailand and Singapore to visit only to witness the grand prize event at Malaysia being at such a level.
Another netizen said this was an insult to the Honda brand and that if he was the boss for Honda, surely he would have called up his lawyer to give the organiser a lawsuit.
Mstar reported that the organiser may have possibly collected a total of RM720,000 from the event.
The organiser who was identified as Remy Ampang has since apologised for the fiasco and said another car will be given to remedy the situation. However, the damage is already done.
The rice has already turned into porridge, or the way we like to say it, the car is already junk. – Oct 9, 2024
