WHAT happens when a prank goes wrong? For an unfortunate couple, the answer is death by vehicular accident.
Lately, there has been an ongoing trend about couples celebrating their significant other’s birthday by pranking each other.
The prank? The victim is made to believe that the other was cheating on them at home as highlighted by a netizen on X.

The victim will then rush back home to catch the cheating person, only to be ambushed by a birthday party crowd there.
All’s well ends well for at least one couple whose video went viral on cyberspace.
But one netizen by the name of Siti Zainah Zainal has come forward to warn that such pranks can have serious consequences.
According to her, she once handled a case where the wife rushed home on her motorcycle after being informed by her friend that her husband was cheating on her.
Upon reaching the junction of the factory where she worked, she crashed her bike and a car that attempted to avoid her slammed into her instead.
“The victim did not survive while her husband waited at home to celebrate her birthday,” she said.
Zainah added that the husband did not remarry but instead concentrated on rearing their three children.
Other netizens have since chipped in to voice their concern regarding such a foolish trend.
LaPoca said it is forbidden to do such pranks, and that the mufti had issued a fatwa regarding this.
“There is too much harm and one of them is the uncontrolled emotion which can result in the loss of life. This is the example,” he said.
LaPoca added that a man once stabbed his wife, thinking that she was cheating, but it was apparently a prank.
“Among the many pranks, the worst prank is the one that scares people. It doesn’t matter whether it be a ghost, shocking people, lying about being in an accident or lying about dying or a prank involving a scam or more,” ns said.
“Use the mind that god gave you. To simplify matters, don’t prank. Is life that boring for one to make pranks?” ns added. – Oct 22, 2024
