3 key reasons why political enemies want to ‘gun down’ Kedah MB Sanusi

THE might of Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Sanusi Md Noor should never be under-estimated even though all guns are trained at his direction for the past two months.

This is because Sanusi is deemed as a strong defence line to block the ambition of his political enemies in his capacity as the Perikatan Nasional (PN) election director amid the upcoming state polls in Kedah, Penang, Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Kelantan and Terengganu, according to Alor Setar MP Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden.

“His leadership as a warlord who steers the force has managed to trigger a wave of support that is extremely powerful and devastating. The wave was translated into tens of thousands of majority votes in the state he led,” Afnan Hamimi penned on his Facebook page.

“The support of the community, especially young people who are connected to the wave has never diminished. There are even opponents who are now friends and defend him and his struggle in the virtual space.”

Secondly, Afnan Hamimi who is also the National PAS Youth deputy chief contended that Sanusi has a high political will to develop “a new economic empire and make Kedah a state where the economic power of the peninsula is concentrated”.

“All mega projects planned before are continued by DS Sanusi. In fact, he worked hard until he made them happened. He will fight until he wins. That is DS Sanusi’s life principle,” explained Afnan Hamimi.

“With Kedah’s strategic position in the north of the peninsula and close to the Malaysia-Thailand border, having mountains and seas, large rain forest, three main dams, on possession of land rich in natural products (including rare earth element), Kedah is a state with great potential from a socio-economic and geopolitical point of view.”

Added Afnan Hamimi: “Kedah will rise above the states in the Klang Valley. Kedahans, the majority of whom are Muslim Malays, will certainly be the luckiest people at that time with the blessings of the land that God has bestowed.

“This is the idea of the Greater Kedah notion that DS Sanusi mentioned earlier. It is not impossible that Kedah will return to glorious days of the ancient Kedah kingdom that existed before it was wiped out by imperialists.”

Thirdly, Afnan Hamimi accused the unity government of implementing the ‘divide and rule’ policy in PN-rule states.

“Moreover, the treatment given to the leaders of Perlis, Kelantan and Terengganu is seen to be very different from that of Kedah. MBs in the three states have been given the opportunity to meet the PM but not for the Kedah MBs,” claimed the first Malay MP to win the Alor Setar parliamentary constituency since 1955.

“Although two letters have been sent to the PM, it is understood that there is still no response for the Kedah MB to meet with the PM on his position as the head of the state and at the federal government level.”

Added Afnan Hamimi: “As if this is not enough, there is an effort to remove the Kedah MB from the National Finance Council (NFC) which is an authoritative platform to discuss national and state financial affairs. After all, decisions on the Kedah-Penang lease claims and related matters are made in the NFC.” – April 18, 2023
