5 years into his death yet Azli Taliban’s ‘wisdom’ still resonates among PAS followers

IN light of the polemic – or rather slander – surrounding the display of Mandarin characters during the recent National Day march in Putrajaya, one opposition-slant keyboard warrior had to really dug deep to unearth some words of wisdom from a video clip attributable to the late Perak PAS Dewan Ulama information chief Norazli Musa.

“An elderly man once reminded me that if the Chinese are chased out from Malaysia, they can always return to China and likewise the Indians to India. But where could the Malays go if they are chased out of their motherland?” asked Norazli who is affably known as Ustaz Azli Taliban in a brief video clip posted by TikToker @ansorullah.jundul.

“The Malays have to remember that if this truly happens tomorrow, those who suffer are not them but their children and grandchildren … Remember that after we’re gone, we still need our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to transmit deeds (pahala) to us.

“We cannot afford them to curse us instead for not fulfilling our duty/obligation to defend the nation (till it has fallen into the hands of foreigners) because of our carelessness.”

For context, @ansorullah.jundul has purportedly ‘resurrect’ Norazli’s viewpoints – five years into his demise in Madinah on March 12, 2019 while performing the umrah (mini haj) – to fan the flame of discord and hatred towards the Chinese/DAP.

Thankfully, a few pro-Madani social media influencers are doing their level best to deflect critics levelled at the use of Mandarin by detractors who are mostly pro-opposition TikTokers.

CIKYANIE (@lady_bugg11) hit out at the slanderers for not revealing the truth that there are actually six languages on display – and not solely Mandarin – to depict the meaning of “welcome” (“selamat datang”).

“There are Malay, English, Mandarin, Tamil, Murut (Sabah) and Iban (Sarawak), too, but only Mandarin was highlighted to scare the Malays,” retaliated the staunch Pakatan Harapan (PH) backer on the X platform. “This is all about fear mongering to garner support.”

Fellow pro-Madani backer JOKER🔺(@tjerealjoker) lambasted TikToker @siakap.kerapu for asking “what is the connection between Tanah Melayu and Mandarin” and whether “this is a Merdeka Day celebration for Tanah Cina?”

“Just because you asked questions doesn’t mean that people cannot read your bad intentions Suich is the behaviour of some rascals in the PN (Perikatan Nasional) tribe playing with racial fire 24 hours a day,” lamented JOKER. “You’re now under our radar. Good luck 😎.”

A netizen also viewed as “very inappropriate” for opposition cybertroopers to target only Mandarin when “three main languages of diversity” were displayed on the screen.
