7-Eleven aids elder care homes with supplies

7-ELEVEN Malaysia Holdings Bhd, collaborating with its startup NGOHub, came to the assistance of a number of charitable homes for the elderly, providing supplies and guidance to these homes.

This group is most at risk and lacks the necessary means to access essential supplies due to shortages.

7-Eleven arranged the distribution of hand sanitisers, multivitamin supplements, antibacterial household cleaning products, as well as guidance pamphlets on hygiene and staying healthy during these challenging times, to charitable homes for the elderly such as Pusat Jagaan Sri Mesra, Aiyide Old Folks Home, Tong Sim Senior Citizens Care, Persatuan Kebajikan Rumah Victory and Pusat Jagaan Warga Emas Husna Arrashid.

“Necessary precautions were taken at the supply handovers with minimal personnel from both the recipients and our side, as well as minimal interaction with the supplies dropped off at the front gate of the respective homes,” said Ronan Lee, marketing general manager for 7-Eleven.

Lee also advised the public to strictly adhere to the guidelines and instructions of the relevant authorities.

The convenience store operator also announced that, along with the Movement Control Order (MCO), 7-Eleven will be operating for shorter times, from 7am to 11pm daily, with effect from March 21 to 31.

Certain locations will see an earlier closure time, which is subject to the guidelines of the respective local authorities. The period outlined may be extended or reduced as well, upon review of the future situation as well as advice from the relevant authorities.

It also assured the public that there is sufficient stock nation-wide, and advised everyone to adhere to the MCO. – March 24, 2020
