Heavy traffic detected towards Klang Valley as Hari Raya break ends

HEAVY traffic flow has been reported on major highways heading towards the Klang Valley as of 9pm yesterday as the Hari Raya holiday draws to an end.

A Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) spokesperson said no unusual congestion was detected last night.

However, he said an increase in vehicles on highways is expected following the offer of free toll charges on the North-South Expressway and East Coast Highway (LPT) from today to 11.59pm tomorrow night.

He advised road users to follow the Travel Time Advisory (TTA) schedule to avoid congestion on the highways.

Meanwhile, LLM’s Twitter feed yesterday reported 4.4km of heavy traffic northbound on the North-South Expressway at Bukit Berapit heading towards the Bukit Gantang rest and recreation (R&R) area.

Another 12km of heavy traffic was reported from Juro Auto City to Permatang Pauh yesterday.

Vehicle movement was also reported to be slow southbound of the North-South Expressway from Bukit Berapit to Sungai Perak for 18.2km; Ipoh Utara to Ipoh Selatan (25km); Tapah to Bidor (4.5km); and from Bidor to Sungkai (26.3km). – May 7, 2022
