WITH the 15th General Election (GE15) being barely one month away (Nov 19), Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has taken a swipe at political rivals for not having clear direction for the interests of the people and the country.
Instead, the UMNO president claimed that the only thing that they were eyeing for were political benefits, power, cronyism, and positions and posts by leveraging slander, lies, manipulation, fact-twisting, false promises and ‘non-gospel manifestos’.
“BN as a political coalition may not be seen as perfect by some parties. But this political coalition never failed to strive for perfection,” the Bagan Datuk MP penned in his latest Facebook post.
“This is a non-stop continuous process to ensure that BN remains relevant and progressive for now and forever.”
Zahid further argued that history after the 14th General Election (GE14) on May 9, 2018 tends to point to BN still being the best coalition choice to lead people and the country.
“It’s BN that brings racial unity, religious harmony, economic prosperity and looks after the welfare of the people. This is the case while other political coalitions are facing uncertainties in their direction until today,” he asserted.
“Soon after its formation, there was a split in Pakatan Rakyat (PR) which led to the formation of Pakatan Harapan (PH). Then a power struggle ensued again and Perikatan Nasional (PN) was formed. Others formed a new splinter party and the Gerakan Tanah Air (GTA) was born.”
Soon after GE14, Zahid said BN tried to restore stability and prosperity in Malaysia but such was not an easy task as the coalition faces various obstacles, constraints and challenges.
“However, thanks to the confidence, support and agreement of the people together we are able to make it a success,” he noted.
“We have done so during the Melaka and Johor state by-elections, and God willing, we will be able to repeat such a feat for GE15. Together we wholeheartedly and confidently choose BN. Only stability and prosperity can guarantee Malaysia’s future.” – Oct 20, 2022
