“Vote wisely! Our country’s future is at stake”

THE voting process for the 15th General Election (GE15) on Nov 19 will see approximately 21 million registered voters choose their representatives for the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) and Parliament seats.

Most of the voters, old and young, may already be thinking about which party they want to appoint as the government at the state and federal level that can guarantee their future and that of the country.

Young voters in the country include 5,718,760 citizens aged 18 years and above have been recorded until Dec 31, 2021, who are automatically registered as new voters, and this situation seems to be exacerbated by the agreement among non-Malay voters who have strong feelings towards change.

Although the process of rejuvenation and giving opportunities to young people is an ideal reality in today’s politics, some of the old people should be retained as people’s representatives as long as they are accepted and still “winnable”.

Meanwhile, for the people, this is their chance to choose a candidate who is more suitable and concerned in defending their fate in the future.

Surely. they will not let ‘bananas bear fruit twice’ (pisang berbuah dua kali) for their mistake of voting for Barisan Nasional (BN) or Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidates in the last general election.

In addition, the leadership of the opposition party which is worried that it will suffer defeat in GE15, also launched a psychological war by planting slander in the minds of the people so that they would be consumed by their allegations and lies.

In relation to that, Perikatan Nasional (PN) also needs to ensure that Malaysians are not trapped and deceived by propaganda and lies played by its opposition.

However, now the situation is much different when the voters are seen to be more mature and intelligent in political thinking, thus not easily fooled by the cheap propaganda of the opposition.

Whatever the voter’s stance on this sacred date of Nov 19, it is a decision that should be respected by all parties. – Nov 4, 2022
