WITH all the brouhaha around the 15th General Election (GE15), there has been little media coverage for candidates from Warisan.
Only some sporadic news have made into mainstream media, with much attention given to the big boys in Pakatan Harapan (PH), Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Barisan Nasional (BN).
One interesting seat that could turn heads and possibly emerge a winner is Warisan’s parliamentary candidate in Batu (Kuala Lumpur) for the P115 parliamentary seat.
Naganathan Pillai or better known as Nathan Batu for the election is a first-time candidate, a local who has no political baggage and a non-controversial personality.
The Batu voters should not be fooled by big names with grandeur agendas that will eventually bring no benefit in the long run. Serving the ordinary rakyat and meeting their urgent economic, social and political needs is not a small feat.
Along the two-week campaign period the voters here have only been further confused by the previous party, namely PKR and their current and past candidates.
The squabbling camps pretty much point towards expecting a more selfish oriented outcome rather than a greater good for Batu residents.

Nathan Batu is crystal clear on his endeavour on how to uplift the Batu constituency which is a critical segment of the greater Kuala Lumpur.
Being in the heart of the city, the deplorable atmosphere in and around the Program Perumahan Rakyat (PPR) speaks volumes on how the previous representatives have performed.
A quick walk along their corridors surfaces the neglected state and upkeep. Haphazard parking, unkempt cleanliness, dilapidated playgrounds and uncollected discarded have become a norm here.
Batu is in urgent need of a parliamentarian that has the people’s priority above all, and not be too engrossed in party issues.
Nathan Batu has the qualities, determination, acumen, and a sharp eye for details that have been extremely neglected by the previous party. And in comparison to other candidates, he has been outright and vocal in surfacing real issues. No skirting around.
While Warisan may be the new kid on the block here, make no mistake to undermine the capabilities of its candidate in Batu.
The list of unaddressed problems faced by Batu constituents is appalling. Traffic congestion, scattered hawking, uncontrolled development, floods and economic/income disparity are just a few on the list.
Lots to be done for the Batu people but unfortunately the past decade had not been justified by the previous party and its candidate.
Nathan Batu is the rejuvenation Batu constituency needs. Not a corrupted party, not independent candidates who have no party backing and definitely not one that plays the race cards.
Batu is an excellent example for its ethnic makeup, a reflection of true Malaysians from different backgrounds, race, culture and household income.
A typical Malaysian melting pot. And Warisan will just be the ideal option for Batu people.
A vote for Nathan Batu is a vote for all Malaysians. — Nov 18, 2022
