“Jangan hisap gam, let Anwar be PMX” netizens told Peja

DURING the reign of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, Twitter and Facebook were famous in Malaysia for memes and jokes about some of his Cabinet ministers, but under PM Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, it is some members of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) who are the source of netizen’s jokes.

In this case, we examine a tweet by former Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, who has received criticism from Twitter users for the majority of his comments and posts on the social media platform.

Yesterday (Dec 6), he posted a tweet accusing some—he did not name names—of saying nice things before taking power but only changing tone once in power.

He added that these politicians are making the people confused. See his tweet below:

The reactions from the netizens are hilarious at times and offensive on other occasions. But politicians now have to learn to live with such narratives and get better at managing their social media networks.

The user is saying, “Before power sniffs the glue.. your rights (as MP) already given or taken… still sniffs the glue… and without power (you are) vulnerable,”

A netizen, in reply to the tweet by the politician, said:

“You want to blame PMX for everything. Because of your lost, he can become PMX, understand? Simple things. Try (to see) if you won. Do you think he can become PM? What a cartoon,” it said.

Another user @syedrunner77, joked with a quote that says, “Life is the best starting from Dec 2022 until Dec 2026 which is 5 Years from now..This is because we are amused to see Wallaun (name given to pro-PAS people) Meroyan during that time.”

Meanwhile, user @RosieRoseMY was very straightforward.

“Macam mana pula org yg mula-mula ada kuasa tp tak buat kerja kemudian tiba-tiba takde kuasa tapi sibuk melalak mcm pandai? 🤔”

The user is saying how is it that this guy had power before but did not do his job then now no power he is making noise as if he is so clever. — Jan 7, 2022
