Ex-PKR man draws flak in tweet support to KJ

FORMER Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Youth deputy chief now Bersatu member Dr Afif Bahardin drew flak on Twitter after he showed support to former health minister Khairy Jamaluddin with netizens calling him out as a ‘traitor’ who left Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s party in 2020.

Afif wrote to Khairy:

Netizens are saying that since he was a known supporter of former PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, who left Pakatan Harapan (PH) in 2020, he is nothing compared to Khairy.

They also said that he betrayed his party, PKR, whom he claims he loved, while Khairy is saying he got fired from the party that betrayed him.

Bersatu’s Afif Bahardin has been a member of the Penang State Legislative Assembly for Seberang Jaya since May 2013.

Meanwhile, user @HishamHamzah chimed in:

[He (Khairy) ain’t joining you guys.. there’s no need for flattery.]

Moreover, user @ArwahMaklampir added:

Interesting enough to see the number of people who commented on user @ArwahMakLampir post which garnered almost 20,000 views at the time of writing.

The user also posted a photo of Afif which said the latter had left PKR, but Afif is insisting on all comments that he did not leave the party and that he was instead fired from the PKR.

However, his attempt to reign in the comments in his favour is useless as more Twitter users joined to attack and tell him he should not compare himself to Khairy. The popularity of Khairy among Twitter users can be seen in the responses.

User @encikangkasawan insisted to tell Afif:

(Roaming the streets of Shah Alam telling people, “I was betrayed, I was fired,” when in reality, it is “I am leaving PKR to follow Azmin”.)
